Eat a Good Breakfast

Although you wouldn’t want to, it is a good idea to have a full breakfast. But don’t grease up too much. Keep those bacon bits a little away and go for something less fatty and more carb and protein based. Carbs absorb alcohol, so a piece of toast with a light layer of jam might be a good idea. If however, you don’t want to eat anything, eat maybe a piece of fruit. That will help you get all the sugar and fructose that you need to recover and replenish yourself.

Hangover is just a phenomenon that happens because they throw the chemicals in your body completely off the track. IT causes a reaction also known as the metabolic acidosis which essentially means that it increases the level of acidity of your body drastically.

This can manifest into nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. A healthy breakfast replenishes some important nutrients into the body, which helps in fighting the acidity in the right way. Once again, make sure that what you eat is healthy otherwise you might just throw up.

Stay Hydrated

You’ve probably heard this before. And, yes. It’s true. When you drink excessive amounts of alcohol, you hurt the natural system of your body a lot. Alcohol dehydrates your body on multiple levels. So what you feel in the morning is just a way of your body telling you to drink up.

Drinking alcohol can lead to dehydration in a few different ways. It basically has a diuretic effect. So, you must have noticed that when you drink, you urinate a lot. This is a natural indicator of a loss of fluids from your body. So, every time you take a leak, remember to replenish it with at least two glasses of water. This will also slow down the process of your getting drunk. Excessive urination also leads to the loss of a lot of electrolytes which increases your hungover state.

If you start vomiting while you drink, that is another way of losing a lot of water and electrolytes from the body. So, you have to make sure that you continue drinking a lot of water. If you are already too drunk and did not replenish your water, make sure that you drink 3 full glasses before you conk off.

Hair of the Dog

This method is not something that ANYONE would recommend, but it has often been proved right with anecdotal reference. The thing is, having a fresh sip of the alcohol that you have been consuming the previous night will change the way it is being digested in the body.

So, while you are sleeping post a binge drinking night, the body starts processing the methanol in the body. When you consume a fresh batch, it automatically slows down that process and changes the overall way in which it is digested.

The chemical called methanol is converted into formaldehyde in the body. Now, formaldehyde is a very toxic compound that causes said hangovers. But adding more alcohol affects the formation of the formaldehyde thereby eliminating the symptoms caused by this toxin.

But this is a Hail Mary method only. If you keep repeating this every time you drink, you are simply building grounds for a terrible habit.
